Children's clothing made by brands Burberry and Primark 'contains dangerous chemicals'
Burberry and Primark products were among those found to have high levels of a chemical which is banned in Europe, Greenpeace said.
Children’s clothing by big brand names including Burberry and Primark contains a toxic chemical, a study has claimed.
Greenpeace found three UK stores selling gear with high levels of a chemical which is banned in Europe.
According to Greenpeace research, the clothes contained nonylphenol ethoxylates which can cause a hormone imbalance in excessive quantities.
A Burberry spokesman said: “Burberry products do not pose a danger to customers.“
Primark said: “We have a stringent chemical management policy which complies fully with EU legislation.
“This is supported by a programme of due diligence and scrutiny to ensure our products comply at all times with these requirements.“ (mirror)
