Nicole Kidman believes her marriage to Tom Cruise 'protected' her from being sexually harassed.
The actress married Tom in 1990 after meeting on the set of Days Of Thunder, and says his star power kept the predators away.
"I got married very young, but it definitely wasn't power for me - it was protection," the 51-year-old wrote in an essay for New York magazine's women and power series.
"I married for love, but being married to an extremely powerful man kept me from being sexually harassed."
However, Nicole - who now has daughters Sunday, 10, and Faith, seven, with husband Keith Urban - said that outside of that, she suffered serveral experiences of sexual harassment from a young age.
"Of course I've had #MeToo moments - since I was little!" she said referencing the anti-harassment movement. But she has vowed not to name her assailants.
"Do I want to expose them in an article? No. Do they come out in my work? Absolutely," she continued.
Tom split with Nicole in 2001, and their two adopted children Isabella, 25, and Connor, 23, stayed living with him.
And she believes the divorce forced her to 'grow up'.
